More about the family reunion held July 18-21:
The second day of our family reunion was nothing but sun and blue skies, in stark contrast to the sopping mess we saw on day one. Conditions were nearly ideal for a trip to the park -- a few degrees warmer would have been welcome. Everyone had a good time playing on the playground and running up the toboggan hill at Prairie Winds park, but you had to run pretty hard to feel like getting wet much higher than your ankles in the wading pool (the water felt icy cold). Scotty has pretty short ankles, so he didn't venture out very far at all until the very end, when R showed him this cute little fountain.
Unfortunately, we didn't take very many pictures on this day; however, we think the ones that we did take turned out nicely.

I wish we had one of those wadding pools here!
From what I understand, there is a pretty good splash park in Barrhaven. Here's what I saw posted in an online forum:
"It's a splash park not a water park, meaning it's unsupervised and there are no real activities. There's lots of water though....loads of jets and fountains that go off at random. Every time we've been there, the kids are always having so much fun! Take the Fallowfield exit off the 416, going east and continue to go down Strandherd (the road splits left to continue on Fallowfield, straight if you want to go on Strandherd). Drive about 5 minutes and you'll pass Greenbank, then the big plaza with WalMart and the movie theatre. You'll take your first left after passing the big plaza, on to Longfields. The splash park will be on your right."

And here's a list of Ottawa Wading Pools
These pictures are some of my absolute favorites of you all. I especially love the one of you and Scotty walking away hand-in-hand.
Yep, the pictures were awesome. Wish you could be here August 30 and go to our WATER PARK with us!! This may be the last year for that tradition!
