Lego Nose Emergency
I got a text message in the morning morning from R that said, "FYI - Waiting for Scott to get an x-ray. Lost a single clear circle Lego piece up his nose. May have to go to Emergency or the Children's Hospital."
The doctor told them to go home and flush his sinus with distilled water while they waited for the x-ray results. His nose was a bit irritated and he could kind of feel the piece rattling around up there, but he couldn't figure out how to shake it out. Later that afternoon Scott noticed a matching Lego piece lying on the floor where he was working on building a vehicle. It was most likely the missing piece, but it was hard to be sure.
The x-ray came back negative, so apparently this piece had fallen out of his nose before they ever left the house. When I got home I asked him how the Lego piece got up there. He stared down at his toe, which was drilling down into the carpet. R told me that he doesn't really like to talk about it.
An interesting series of events. Fortunately, no harm done.
