As much as we love our stroller, we've really wanted to get a sling-style baby carrier so that we could tote Scott around a little more without a bunch of extra gear. Having no experience with such things, we were pretty much feeling our way through the dark. However, we finally made our selection: two slings from Maman Kangourou (mama kangaroo).Maman Kangourou is a company based in Gatineau, Quebec -- just across the river from Ottawa. They sell three main styles. One of them is this crazy wrap-around thing, which is basically a 10 or 15 foot band of cloth. At first it seemed a little intense, but we had a little demonstration from the lady there and we were both surprised what a snug and secure fit it was. We bought one of those (elastic wrap) and got a $10 discount on the less sophisticated pouch version (the lady helping us was the same person modeling the pouch on the site).
We took the stretchy wrap out for a test drive this afternoon, on a walk to the drugstore to get more baby wipes. R got quite a few compliments on her baby carrier. Most people did double takes, only figuring out she was carrying a baby on the second look. I love it. It's so, so, so cute.

I just noticed something... we've been seeing a lot more faces on this blog than in the past. I'm not sure why... perhaps your identity does not need to be shrouded in secrecy now that Scott has entered the world. It's nice to see faces.
I agree to seeing the faces bit!! And I had to look twice to make sure a baby was in the "sling". He looks content, and both or Rachelle's hands were free. Where were those when I had my SIX?? Love you all!
